Our Story
Jane Carter, a haircare industry veteran, founded Jane Carter Solution® in 1996. As an African-American woman with naturally curly hair, Jane was frustrated with the lack of products that worked for her hair type. She began experimenting with natural ingredients in her own kitchen, determined to create something better.
The result was a revolutionary curl defining and moisturizing formula that transformed her curls. Jane knew then that she was onto something special. She was determined to share her discoveries with the world.
Jane started selling her handmade products at local salons and markets in Atlanta. Word quickly spread about her innovative formulas that actually worked. Before long, Jane Carter Solution® products were being sold nationwide.
Over the years, the Jane Carter Solution® line has expanded to include shampoos, conditioners, styling products, and treatments specifically designed for curly, coily, wavy, and chemically-treated hair. We formulate our products using high-quality natural ingredients like shea butter, olive oil, and aloe vera. We are committed to being cruelty-free, using no animal testing.
While Jane has stepped back from day-to-day operations, her pioneering spirit lives on in our team of haircare experts. We remain dedicated to Jane’s founding vision of providing inclusive, effective haircare to all.
